DJI Osmo Pocket 4 rumors point to March 26, 2026 launch with enhanced 1-inch sensor, 4K/120fps video, and improved stabilization.

Editor’s Note (September 2026 Update): While early spring leaks suggested a March release, DJI pivoted its summer product lineup towards the Osmo 360 II and Air 3S ecosystem. The Osmo Pocket 4 remains in active development with updated timelines expected later this season.

DJI is preparing to launch the Osmo Pocket 4 on March 26, 2026, according to leaked retail listings and FCC certification documents. The fourth generation of DJI's pocket-sized gimbal camera is expected to address the most common complaints about the Pocket 3 while adding features that bring it closer to the company's flagship Action and Mini series.

Key Upgrades Over the Pocket 3

The Osmo Pocket 3, released in late 2023, was a breakthrough product that combined a 1-inch sensor with a three-axis mechanical gimbal in a device that fits in a pocket. The Pocket 4 builds on this foundation with several meaningful improvements:

• 1/1.3-inch sensor: A modest size increase that improves low-light performance and dynamic range

• 4K 120p recording: Up from 4K 60p, enabling smooth slow-motion capture

• 10-bit D-Log M and HLG: Professional color profiles previously reserved for DJI's larger cameras

• ActiveTrack 6.0: Improved subject tracking with better obstacle avoidance and re-acquisition

• Longer battery life: Approximately 140 minutes of 4K recording, up from 116 minutes

New Accessories and Ecosystem

DJI is also expanding the Pocket 4's accessory ecosystem. A new wireless microphone module with dual transmitters will allow creators to capture broadcast-quality audio without additional gear. A waterproof case rated to 15 meters will make the Pocket 4 viable for snorkeling and shallow diving — a first for the Osmo Pocket line. A magnetic ND filter system, similar to the one DJI offers for the Action 5, will help videographers manage exposure in bright conditions.

Pricing and Competition

The Osmo Pocket 4 is expected to launch at $549 — a $50 increase over the Pocket 3's introductory price. This positions it between the Action 5 ($399) and the Mini 4 Pro drone ($759). The Pocket 4's unique selling proposition remains its mechanical gimbal, which delivers smoother footage than electronic stabilization systems, particularly in low light where digital stabilization can introduce artifacts.

Bottom Line

For vloggers, travel creators, and anyone who values portability without sacrificing image quality, the Osmo Pocket 4 looks like a compelling upgrade. DJI has a track record of delivering polished, reliable products, and the Pocket 4 appears to continue that tradition while addressing the few shortcomings of its predecessor.
