Nextorage has launched a 1TB SDXC UHS-II card for people who run out of the smaller ones. The NX-F2AE series comes in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB, and Nextorage's spec sheet lists V90 video speed class — a guaranteed minimum sustained write of 90 MB/s — with read and write speeds both at 300 MB/s on 3D TLC NAND.
The pricing is what stands out. US listings put the 256GB at $299.99, the 512GB at $529.99 and the 1TB at $999.99. A 1TB SD card has quietly stopped being exotic, and at this point capacity matters more than headline speed.
Nextorage says the cards pass seven durability tests, including a 4.9-foot drop and 10,000-plus connector mating cycles, and recommends pairing them with the NX-DF1CL dual-slot reader.
I don't need a terabyte for my own work, but if you're shooting 8K on one body without a backup drive, this is a card where the capacity decision comes before the speed decision.
