So Fuji just dropped a save-the-date for Fujikina NYC 2026 and honestly, this is bigger news than it might look at first glance.
The basics: Fujikina NYC is happening October 16 to 18, 2026. Three days. Free to attend. Exact venue hasn't been announced yet but based on past Fuji events it'll likely be in Manhattan or Brooklyn. You can sign up for the save-the-date on Fuji's site right now.
Why NYC matters
Why I care, personally: the last time Fujifilm held a Fujikina in New York City was 2022. That's four years. New York doesn't have a major photo trade show anymore — PMA folded, PhotoPlus became an online thing, and there just hasn't been a flagship event for camera folks in the Northeast since. A brand-backed event of this size, free to attend, in NYC, is a real thing.
Could there be a product launch?
PetaPixel had the first solid coverage (June 17), and Fuji X Weekly followed up the same day with some useful context — including the speculation about whether Fuji might attach an X Summit to this event. Historically about 60% of Fujikinas have been adjacent to a product launch, 40% have been standalone community events. So there's maybe a 50/50 chance we see something like an X-T6 or X-Pro4 announcement dropped here. But also maybe not. Don't quote me on that.
What to expect if you go
If you live anywhere near the Northeast — Boston, Philadelphia, DC, upstate New York — this is worth the train ticket. Fuji usually does photo walks, hands-on sessions with new gear (X-T5, X100VI, GFX series, the whole lineup), print exhibitions, and presentations from working photographers. It's less of a trade show and more of a community gathering. The vibe is way more relaxed than NAB or CP+.
For everyone not in driving distance — Fuji has said a "full program" will be announced "in the coming months." I'd expect workshops, special guests, possibly some hands-on with pre-release gear if there's a product announcement attached. Worth keeping an eye on the official Fujifilm account for updates.
One small thing that caught my eye in the announcement: Fuji specifically called Fujikina NYC "a celebration of what you love, with people who love it too." That's marketing-speak, but it's also kind of true. The whole point of Fujikina is that it's fan-driven. You're not going to see enterprise B2B stuff like at a major trade show. You're going to see people who actually shoot with Fuji gear, talking about how they shoot with Fuji gear. That has value.
Bottom line
Mark your calendar: October 16-18, 2026, New York City. More details to come.
