It’s not so zippy and flashy as some of the other gear out there, but it’s sufficient for most garden-variety, every-day photo taking applications. Continuous autofocusing while videoing in general is sometimes slightly less on the mark with moving subjects.
4K Video: Another feature of FZ80D is its 4K video. The video is very clear and sharp, and the camera has a number of modes of video. The inbuilt microphone can cope with casual usage, but a professional recording video would be perfect with an external mic.
Battery Life: Battery life is sufficient for a day of recreational shooting. 300-350 shots per battery is the norm, more than enough for most photographers, but always a good practice to have an extra battery handy, especially when venturing out on long excursions.
Overall Experience: Shooting with the Lumix FZ80D in 2025 is a lesson in the idea that the best photography is not necessarily about possessing the latest, most costly gear.
