Recently, there has been a new development regarding the successor to the Panasonic S1H. In an interview with Matt Frazer at CineD, Matt Frazer revealed that the Panasonic S1H will “eventually” have a successor.

Previously, the release of the Panasonic S1RII sparked a lot of attention in the industry. Regarding the long time between the release of the S1RII, Matt Frazer said that Panasonic was trying to find the right sensor for the target model. Choosing the right sensor is crucial for camera performance improvement, which is related to image quality, shooting speed, high sensitivity performance and other aspects. From the S1RII release strategy, Panasonic may also be in the S1H successor model development, spend time to select the appropriate sensor, to ensure that the performance of the new camera can meet market demand.

There’s still no word on when the successor to the S1H will be released, with Matt Frazer only stating that there will be a replacement “eventually”. However, the article also mentions that another Lumix camera will be released in April, and hints that more information about this camera may be revealed later. This could mean that the April release is somehow related to the S1H successor, possibly setting the stage for the S1H successor to be released.
