North American Panasonic has a press release for the “LUMIX S1RII” posted.

  • On February 25, 2025, Panasonic announced the latest high-definition model of the new LUMIX S series full-frame mirrorless camera, the “LUMIX S1RII.”
  • The LUMIX S1RII adopts a high-performance engine equipped with a newly developed 44.3 million-pixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and L2 technology, enabling the LUMIX’s excellent still and video shooting with natural color reproduction.
  • You can utilize a high-definition mode with approximately 177 million pixels in handheld shooting, allowing for the vivid capture of the subject’s presence and details.
  • Additionally, equipped with innovative video performance, the LUMIX series has for the first time become compatible with 8K video recording and achieved a 14-stop dynamic range.
  • The popular Open Gate feature has also been enhanced, capable of 6.4K shooting, and will support 8.1K / 7.2K shooting with future firmware updates.
  • For the first time as part of the LUMIX S series, it supports internal recording of 5.8K Apple ProRes RAW HQ / ProRes RAW to CFexpress Type B cards.
  • It is ideal for one-person operation or small-scale filming as it can record high-quality video data without the use of external equipment or cables.
  • The evolved real-time recognition phase hybrid AF is equipped with AI tracking functions, quickly and accurately detecting the subject’s eyes and face, and smoothly following them.
  • High-speed continuous shooting is possible at approximately 40fps when using an electronic shutter, allowing for accurate tracking of fast-moving subjects.
  • The SH Burst Mode starts shooting before the shutter is fully pressed, ensuring you don’t miss the decisive moment.
  • The highly regarded LUMIX hand-shake correction system has also evolved, with the “LUMIX S1RII” achieving 8.0 stops of hand-shake correction within the body and 7.0 stops of correction effect in the telephoto range when using Dual I.S. 2.
  • When shooting videos, it is equipped with the newly developed cropless E.I.S. video distortion correction function, which reduces peripheral distortion during wide-angle shooting while maintaining the field of view.
  • The compact body design and the tilting and free-angle monitor of the new model accommodate any shooting style, enhancing mobility and creativity.
  • The “LUMIX S1RII” is compatible with the “LUMIX Lab” smartphone app, allowing direct loading of LUTs into the camera.
  • By this, the efficiency of post-production is improved, deliveries to clients become smoother, and time can be secured to focus on creative work.
  • Also, the new “LUMIX Flow” app has been introduced to support workflows for various production scenes such as short films, documentaries, music videos, and corporate promotional videos.
  • This app provides a wide range of functions, from creating illustrations to shooting and file organization.
  • The “LUMIX S1RII” integrates with “Frame.io,” enhancing the efficiency of shooting, editing, cloud sharing, and collaboration.
  • LUMIX for the first time supports “Capture One,” strongly supporting professional studio photography workflows.
  • Based on the philosophy of supporting creative passion through technology, the “LUMIX S1RII” is a next-generation mirrorless camera aimed at creators who want to realize their unique vision.
